If you are 12 -17 years old, then you probably can get counseling on your own and without involving your parents.
Mental health counseling usually involves you talking to a licensed counselor or therapist. In a typical session, you might talk about things that are stressing you out, things you’ve been going through, or concerns for the future. By talking with a counselor, who is there only to listen to what you have to say and help you think about it, you may find it easier to work through questions or experiences that are troubling you.
