There are several ways you can pay for healthcare.

Health Coverage Description
Parent’s private insurance If your parents’ health plan covers dependents, you can remain on their plan until you are 26 years old. When your parent applies for a new plan through their employer or through Covered CA, s/he can usually sign you up on the same application. But if you use your parents’ insurance, they will probably find out you received medical services and will know what kind of care you got. For more information, click here.
Private insurance through Covered CA Some people can get their own health insurance through Covered CA if they cannot get affordable insurance through their job. If this applies to you, you may be eligible for a free or low-cost health plan, or for financial assistance that can lower the cost of premiums and co-pays.
Health Clinic There are clinics where you can get free or low-cost healthcare. These clinics will only charge you what they think you can pay. They do not count your parents’ income. To find a clinic near you, click HERE.
Public Programs  There are free or low-cost public programs available to anyone, including minors, with limited income that may provide family planning, pregnancy services, and general healthcare:

o    Full-scope Medi-Cal

o   Pregnancy-only Medi-Cal

o   Presumptive Eligibility (PE) Medi-Cal
