Even if you are in foster care, you still have the same right to choose what to do with a pregnancy as any other teen. That means if you are pregnant, you can choose whether you want to:
- get an abortion
- continue a pregnancy
- or set up an adoption.
No one can make this choice for you or force you to make a certain choice. That includes your social worker, your group home, your foster caregiver, your parents or even a judge.
You also have the right to go to the health care provider of your choice. If you feel like you aren’t being given a choice or your rights are being violated, contact us or contact your lawyer or social worker.
