No.

Youth of any age in both foster care and the juvenile justice system have the right to make their own decisions about whether or not to use birth control.  If they choose to use birth control, they also have the right to choose what kind of birth control to use.  Nobody else can make this decision for them – not their social worker, probation officer, group home, parent or foster parent.  This right comes from the state Constitution and state law, including a law called California Welfare and Institutions Code 369.  If your placement or foster home is not letting you get the care you want, talk to your lawyer or social worker, or contact us.
