Your boss must let you take any leave you are entitled to ( i.e. paid sick time) if you or your baby is sick.
In addition, if you have worked for the same employer for at least one year, and you or your baby is extremely sick, your boss is probably required to let you take time off to care for yourself or your baby.
If your job does not come with sick leave and you or your baby is not extremely sick, you probably do not have a right to time off. Each employer has their own sick-leave policies. Ask your employer what the policy is.
If you cannot work and you have no leave or you used it, you can probably get disability payments for up to six weeks.
